The Home Care Aide Council (Council) and our coalition partners - Mass Home Care and the Home Care Alliance - are working hard to urge the members of the Massachusetts Legislature to support our #EnoughPayToStay campaign for frontline home care workers.

The #EnoughPayToStay Coalition’s proposal would appropriate $14.06 million in expiring Federal Dollars from the Community First Trust Fund to provide immediate rate relief to support the wages and benefits earned by the following home care workers:

  •  $6,800,000 for Homemakers/Personal Care Homemakers = Increase of $.80 per hour
  •  $4,160,000 for Home Health Aides = Increase of $.40 per hour
  •  $3,100,000 for ASAP Case Managers

Homemakers, Home Health Aides, and ASAP Case Managers are the backbone of the home care system. But they are a low-wage, high-turnover workforce. They are in desperate need of a wage and benefit increase to make ends meet.

WE NEED YOUR HELP – PLEASE TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION:

We urge all of our members and allies to contact your Senate, and the Senators for the districts that your organization serves, and ask them to support the #EnoughPayToStay workforce proposal.  You can look up contact information for Senators online at http://www.wheredoivotema.ma/ or call the State House switchboard at 617-722-2000.

Remember – “all politics is local”.  Calls and contacts from constituents make all the difference.  Please share this message with your staff and take action today!
