Governor Baker’s new Council to Address Aging in MA is holding a series of listening sessions to gather feedback from stakeholders on ways to make the Commonwealth the most livable state for people of all ages. These community listening sessions will take place in four locations between now and August 2nd.

The Council to Address Aging in MA will develop a plan to promote healthy aging in the Commonwealth, and to achieve the goal of making Massachusetts the most age-friendly state for people of all ages. The Council’s recommendations may address a broad range of issues including current practices that support healthy aging, how to improve public awareness of and access to services for older adults and caregivers, and how to leverage innovation and technology to support aging in communities. The Council is made up of 24 members and is co-chaired by Marylou Sudders, Secretary of the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), and Eileen Connors, a Philanthropist.

The Home Care Aide Council encourages members to attend these sessions and share information on the home care services your agency provides and the challenges your agency faces as it works to care for seniors and individuals with disability in community-based settings.

The community listening sessions will be held at the following dates and locations:

  • Wednesday, June 21st – Gloucester Senior Center - 9:30am to 11:30am
  • Monday, June 26th – UMASS Medical School, Worcester Campus – 2:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Tuesday, July 25th – Barnstable Senior Center – 9:00am to 11:00am
  • Wednesday, August 2nd – Elder Services of Berkshire County – 10:00am to 12:00pm

If you are unable to attend one of the sessions in person, the Council will also be accepting written comments through their website here or by sending an email to Shoshana.Preuss@MassMail.State.MA.US
